How To Get Free "Late Show with David Letterman" Tickets

If you are visiting New York City and are interested in getting free tickets to see David Letterman, you can request tickets in person for shows up to one month in advance or you can try your luck at getting stand-by tickets starting at 11:00 a.m. on the day of the show you would like to attend.

When: You can request tickets in person for shows up to one month in advance at the Ed Sullivan Theatre at 1697 Broadway (between 53rd & 54th Streets). Ticket requests will be accepted Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Do not line up for tickets before 9 a.m. To request standby tickets, call (212) 247-6497 starting at 11:00 a.m. on the day of the show you would like to attend.

You will be asked to answer a David Letterman trivia question, and if you answer it correctly, you'll be asked to arrive at the theater approximately an hour before taping. Stand-by tickets do not guarantee admission to the show.

  • Late Show with David Letterman doesn't offer tickets by mail or for groups.
